About Us

At the Social Care Training Academy, we are passionate about developing excellence in children's residential care through high-quality qualifications and flexible learner support.

With over 15 years of hands-on management and senior leadership experience within children’s residential settings, and over 12 years of expertise delivering vocational and apprenticeship qualifications, our team of tutors, assessors and internal quality assurers bring real-world knowledge into every course.

Our team has lived the sector from managing homes, leading teams, and shaping services to meet and exceed regulatory standards, and now we bring that frontline insight directly into your learning experience.

We specialise exclusively in children's residential care. Unlike some providers who also focus on adult care or wider health and social care sectors, we concentrate fully on the challenges, legislation, and best practices specific to children's homes.


This ensures our learners receive relatable, targeted support that genuinely reflects the environments they work in, helping to embed the skills and understanding required by both Children’s Home Regulations (2015) and Ofsted expectations.

We offer the 3 most important qualifications in the children’s residential sector:

  • Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare – for support workers stepping into senior roles.

  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare – for managers and deputy managers leading teams and services.

  • Level 7 Diploma in Strategic Management and Leadership – for senior leaders, Responsible Individuals, and directors taking organisations forward at a strategic level.

 

At the Social Care Training Academy, we pride ourselves on being flexible and working together closely with organisations and managers to ensure learners complete their qualifications in line with both company requirements and the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations.


We understand the demands of shift work, regulations, inspections, staffing pressures, and children's complex needs - so we adapt learning plans where necessary to suit individual and service needs without compromising quality.

Tracking and Monitoring:

We are committed to maintaining excellent tracking and monitoring of every learner's journey.


We offer a quick turnaround on assessments, with assessors providing detailed feedback promptly after submissions.
Each learner also receives monthly support calls from their assessor to discuss progress, address any challenges, and keep motivation high.


For managers and organisations, a unique dashboard provides full visibility of learner progress, showing real-time updates on unit completion, assessments in progress, and a clear summary of all communications made with the learner.


This ensures managers no longer need to chase for updates - all information is readily available whenever needed, helping organisations stay compliant with both internal training requirements and external regulatory expectations. However should you still need to contact us directly about a learners progress we are still on hand to support you.
